Newsletter 10-20-17

No school Friday or Monday due to Fall Break.  Enjoy two four day weeks in a row!  Have a great fall break with your family.

We are currently working on measurement in math.  Measuring objects around the house in inches, feet, yards, centimeters, and meters and comparing those measurements is a great way to practice.

Thanks for all the supplies you sent in for our STEM challenge this week.  The challenge was to build a structure to protect your “paper family” from the elements (rain).  Ask your child how it went.

This week was red ribbon week.  Our motto was “Drug free, bully free, I agree!”  We also had an Officer Phil program this week where we learned about safety.

Please make sure your child’s name is written in all jackets that they wear.  It makes it easier to get lost belongings returned.  Thank you!

There will be no newsletter next week since I am out.

  • Field trips and school sack lunches

Your child is bringing home a packet of permission slips and info about the trips.  No money is necessary, just sign the papers.  For the Sept. 22 trip, all students are taking a school sack lunch, for ease of transportation and keeping track of our things.  If your child normally packs lunch, you get a day off!  Thank you for understanding.

  • Thank you for making sure iPads are charged nightly.  Great improvement this week!

We need ipads to be AT LEAST 50% charged for us to complete our work for the day.  We do not have enough chargers in our room to handle the number of uncharged devices that have been coming in, not to mention it makes it really tough to get our school work done.  Thank you for your attention to this.
