Please make sure your child brings a backpack each day from now until the last day so they can bring things home.

Report cards will be coming home the last day of school.

Your children will still be registered in Raz kids (kids A-Z app) until the first week of August when I will begin registering my new students for next year.  This is a great app to use to keep kids reading over the summer.  Students can listen to, read, then answer questions about books they read in the app.  When they successfully complete a level ( green completion boxes for each book) the app will automatically assign the next level for them!

Sumdog, happy numbers, and Prodigy are 3 apps that are great for math practice.

Moby Max has multiple subjects available to students.  There are also many other apps on your child’s ipad to offer summer practice opportunities. Your children know how to log in to all of these things and login info is in seesaw.

Thanks so much for all of your support this year.  School can’t be successful without supportive parents!  I’ve really enjoyed this year and having your children in class.  It’s been a great year!

Family picnic day

Family picnic day is Monday. Second grade eats at 11:45. Feel free to bring a blanket and bring a picnic lunch to eat with your kiddos!

Lakeside Park field trip

We are walking to Lakeside park for our end of year field trip with grade 2.  All parents are invited to attend, but you MUST have a background check on file with the school to attend.  A new form is required each year.  If you have not filled out a form and gotten approval already this year, check your email for a message with the form attached. Please fill out both pages and send in by May 22.  These forms take time to process and last minute submissions may not be approved.  Thank you!

Healthworks field trip Thursday

Please send a disposable sack lunch with your child, including a drink, both labelled with your child’s name.  We will not be bringing anything back from lunch so don’t send anything you want returned!

Relay for Life Walkathon

We had a super walkathon today!  We walked inside due to the weather but we had a great time being cancer fighting superheroes!  Many thanks to all for supporting the American Cancer Society, an organization near and dear to many of our hearts.

Teacher Appreciation week

Boy, do I feel appreciated!  Thanks for all the notes of appreciation and goodies of all kinds this week.  I feel so privileged to be able to work with your children.  We’ve had a great year and it’s passing so quickly now!  Thank you again for making this a special week for me. ♥♥♥
