newsletter 11/20/20

Thanks to those who sent in supplies for our rolls, butter, and pies. They were a hit!

eLearning activities for Monday and Tuesday will be available for students to work on after school today. I will be intermittently checking assignments and sending back any corrections over the weekend through 3PM Tuesday. Feel free to get started early if you want to get them out of the way.

School is currently planned to be in session face to face like normal the week after Thanksgiving. We have been advised to send home supplies in case that should happen to change. I am sending home math books, reading book, a notebook, headphones, iPad, and a dry erase board with a marker. Please keep these IN THE BACKPACK. Please make sure they come back the next day we have school as these are supplies we use daily. Thank you!

Monday, November 23rd and Tuesday, November 24th will now be planned eLearning days for ALL Wawasee Community School Corporation students. Please click HERE or see the attached statement from WCSC for more details. There will be no new spelling list or reading log for these days.

A little explanation – eLearning days are different from Virtual learning days. Virtual learning days involve logging in to Google Meet for live lessons with the teacher throughout the day with assignments pushed out in Seesaw. eLearning days do NOT involve live Google Meet lessons. Lessons and videos will be pushed out through Seesaw to be worked on at your own pace for eLearning days. The teacher will be checking and returning assignments for correction throughout the day (9AM-3PM) and can be reached through Parent Square.

HOMEWORK

  • STUDENTS ARE TO READ 20 MINUTES EACH NIGHT.
    • Your child is bringing home a reading log each week to fill out and return on Fridays.
  • STUDENTS ARE TO PRACTICE WORD WORK (SPELLING) WORDS FOR THE FRIDAY TEST EACH WEEK.
  • Word work tests will be most Fridays.  The word list will come home on Friday or Monday.  Please practice the words at home during homework time. 8 of the list words will be on the test along with 2 surprise words that follow the same word pattern.  There will also be a bonus challenge word that follows the word pattern that will be worth one bonus point.  No point will be lost if the challenge word is missed.
